How pitch count tracking works

The six rule sets supported and how rest days, catcher conflicts, and limits are enforced.

GamePlanLab supports six rule organizations:

  • Little League
  • USSSA
  • Cal Ripken
  • Perfect Game (PG)
  • PONY
  • Dixie Youth

Pick one on the Setup tab. The planning tool then enforces:

1. Per-game pitch limits by age band โ€” the planner refuses to assign a pitcher to more innings than their limit allows. 2. Rest day calculations โ€” if a player threw 41+ pitches yesterday, the planner won't let them pitch today. 3. Catcher conflict detection โ€” many rule sets prohibit the same player from catching and pitching in the same game beyond a threshold; the planner blocks the assignment when it would violate.

Yellow โš  icons appear on cells approaching the limit (~70% of allowed pitches). Red โœ— icons mark explicit violations and you can't save a plan that contains one.

If you upload past games via the Season import, the planner uses those pitch counts to compute today's available rest pool automatically.
