Sit-out fairness and premium positions

How the engine balances who sits, who gets premium reps, and how to read the equity grade.

Two fairness signals get tracked across every game:

  • Sit-outs: how often a player rides the bench
  • Premium reps: how often a player gets one of the five "premium" positions (Pitcher, Catcher, Shortstop, 1st Base, Center Field)

The Season → Fairness tab assigns each player an equity grade A-F:

  • A — premium reps minus sits is ≥ 1.0 per game (consistently advantaged)
  • B — between 0.25 and 1.0 (balanced positive)
  • C — between -0.25 and 0.25 (balanced)
  • D — between -1.0 and -0.25 (notable deficit)
  • F — below -1.0 (consistently short-changed)

The "Due for more reps next game" callout on the Season tab pre-flags the three players with the lowest equity score. The planner uses this same signal to bias the next game plan toward giving them premium positions.

Back-to-back sits are blocked by default — a player who sat last game won't sit this game unless every other player has already sat at least once.
